Dendrobium

Dendrobium [den-DROH-bee-um] ... A large genus of orchid containing 1200 species.
The name is derived from Greek "dendron" [tree] & "bios" [life]..
The species are either epiphytic [growing on trees] or occasionally lithophytic [growing on rocks]
These are native to south east and south-east Asia, like Philippines, Borneo, Australia, New Zealnad ...
Dendrobiums can be either evergreen or deciduous, producing large sprays of flowers in a vast range of colours from the long pseudobulbs that resemble bamboo..
